Nirdigantha... Beyond Horizon

Nirdigantha... Beyond Horizon

Nirdigantha

Nirdigantha, originated from a desire to participate creatively in the contemporary cultural landscapes. Inspired by the dreams and ideals of the versatile artist Prakash Raj and a group of like minded people, this organisation has adopted the concept and principles of “Nirdigantha”, a metaphor from the lines of the poetry of Kannada Poet Laureate Kuvempu that epitomise “Growing Beyond Horizon”. With a prime focus on theatre, it encompasses various fine arts such as literature, music, painting, dance and sculpture, attempting to unite the “call of relevance” with the “call of resonance”. This journey brings together artists, writers, scientists, environmentalists and individuals from diverse disciplines on the basis of reciprocal relationships.

Nirdigantha Projects

This essence of life began a year ago. Being an incubator to theatre artists, we have found our inquisitiveness by conducting various experiments and actively intervening in necessary cultural contexts. Along this path, casting our roles and ensembling our responsibilities were many. Public theatre performances, Stage experiments on poetry focussing the youth community, 'Shalaranga' (School Theatre) which aims to integrate education and theatre, recruitment of theatre teachers under 'Shala Rangavikasa' (School Theatre Development Project) to conduct theatre experiments with children, 'Rangavikasa' (Theatre Development) to support the views on global comprehension of today's young directors and standing by their dreams - Nirdigantha has co-ordinated and organized several such projects.
